Torvizcon Pueblo
We are located in the picturesque Andalusian village of Torvizcon. The village is well serviced with: Spar supermarket, General store, Bank, Pharmacy, Doctor surgery, Gas station, Hotel/restaurant, Bars, Municipal Pool, Padel Court, Exercise machines, Sports facilities, Childrens park and Play area.
Torvizcon is a traditional Andalusian pueblo nestled in the heart of La Alpujarra region. Famous for its almond blossom in spring. La Alpujarra is a natural and historic region in southern Spain. It is a wonderfully rugged region that sits between the mountains and the sea. It covers approximately 2500km2 and reaches from Almeria to Granada. Perfect for all nature lovers, Hikers and Cycling.
La Contraviesa
Torvizcon sits within the area known as La Contraviesa. This is the mountainous area between the high peaks of The Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and the Mediterranean Sea. Typical whitewashed houses in the village cling to the hillside that tumbles down to the Rambla Torvizcon. The area is best known for wine making, olive oil and the growing of figs and almonds.
Perfectly Located
We are extremely lucky to be located so centrally in La Alpujarra. We have Costa Tropical and the Mediterranean Sea 40 minutes to the south and the stunning pueblos blanco of Barranco de Poqueira and the Sierra Nevada peaks 40 minutes to the north. Granada city is 1 hour away and the ski resort is beyond.
Traditional Alpujarra
The capital of La Alpujarra is the lovely town of Orgiva. Orgiva is a 15 minute drive from our accommodation. It boasts both amazing traditional and artisan markets every Thursday as well as a wealth of bars, shops and restaurants.
Sierra Nevada Ski Resort
The Sierra Nevada Ski Resort sits on the northwest slopes of Veleta and is the most southerly ski resort in Europe. The ski season runs from December through to April and accommodates all levels of skier.
